The Busy Executive - Do I really need yet another app on my phone?
I don’t know about others, but my day consists of meetings, calls, documents to read and to-do’s to action.
We have a Group Executive Assistant who puts the meetings in my diary, sends me a list of calls I need to make, and emails me with documents I have to read. Internal meetings appear in my Teams feed and they may well have documents attached. External meetings will be in my diary and again may have documents attached. To-do’s appear in my to-do’s app, and hopefully, with it all syncing correctly, I get to begin my day.
Meetings are my “anchor points” for the day. I use the time between meetings to update my team on any results or action points, and, if I have time left, I hunt for the email with the calls I need to make or read and respond to documents my team need me to digest.
Then, of course, there is the feedback to my team after all these “events”:
- “What happened on the call? Did I get through? Are there any action points?"
- “Did the meeting go ok? Are there any notes?"
- “Have I read the documents released at 10:00am?"
It’s a busy day, with priorities changing as the day unfolds.
Having one app that brings all these items together in one structured dynamic timeline has changed the way I work and made communication with my team seamless. I am know longer jumping from one system to another searching for all the relevant documents for a meeting in order to be fully briefed. BriefingLine has brought my day into line so I have all of the information I need to make the best decisions possible.
